Alexandria, 24 February 2005—Within the framework of the goals of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Arts Center in documenting and reviving national and international musical heritage, the Center has begun the production of the first documentary in Arabic about the Austrian classical composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The documentary illustrates Mozart’s musical brilliance through the different stages of his life. It also includes samples of his operas, concertos, chamber music and sonatas, as well as the opinion of music specialists of his works.

The Arts Center will also release all his works, presented in the documentary, on compact discs, in addition to his biography book in Arabic.

This is the fourth in a series of projects, undertaken by the Arts Center, of publishing musical works. Previous projects include the preparation of a contemporary version of Sayed Darwish’s works, string works of contemporary Egyptian composers, and finally a collection of different classical Egyptian soloists on different instruments.
