The BA Flows Information and Knowledge to the Entire World

In an official celebration, the BA received on Thursday, 24 May 2007, a valuable donation of Russian books from the Orientalism Institute, affiliated to the Russian Academy of Sciences. The donation amounted to 200 books including researches conducted by the institute in the last five years. A group of professors and scholars from the institute, chaired by Mr. Ribakov, Director of the Orientalism Institute attended the celebration, gave an address, in which he expressed his admiration and appreciation of the BA.
Mr. Ribakov stated that the BA is a stream of flowing knowledge and information to the whole world. He added that this is not strange to Egypt, the cradle of civilizations. He praised the efforts of Egypt and the BA in preserving the memory of humanity on paper as well as digitally.
Mrs. Mona El-Nashar, Deputy Director of the BA Public Relations Department accompanied the delegation on a tour of the Library, its affiliated exhibitions and museums, and different services offered by the BA to members and visitors. The tour included the Manuscripts Museum, the Digital Lab, the Internet Archive, VISTA, the Planetarium Science Center, and the Alexploratorium.
