Honoring the Egyptologist AbdelHalim Nureldine

Alexandria— An international celebration, 10-11 April, honoring Dr. AbdelHalim Nureldine, Advisor to the BA Director, will start at 10:00 hrs. on Tuesday, 10 April 2007, at the Great Hall, Cairo University. More than 207 Foreign and Egyptian archeologists will participate in the second celebration held on 12 April 2007, in the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University.

The celebration is held under the auspices of Alexandria, Cairo, and Fayoum Universities and the Netherlands-Flemish Institute in Cairo, representing Leiden University, Netherlands. Several ministers, the Dutch Ambassador, President of Cairo University, vice presidents of Egyptian universities, professors of Archeology will attend the celebration.

Dr. Abdel Halim Nureldine was born on 1 July 1943. He got his Bachelor of Arts with honors in Archeology, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University in 1963. He received his masters degree in Archeology from the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University in 1966. In 1974, he got his doctorate in Archeology from Leiden University, Netherlands. He is a fellow of Christ's College, Cambridge University.
