Scientific Research in Developing Countries: Building a New Future

Alexandria— the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World, TWAS, is convening its 10th General Conference, its 17th General Meeting, and concurrently, the developing World Network of Scientific Organizations (TWNSO) will hold its executive board meeting and 9th General Assembly entitled “Scientific Research in Developing Countries: Building a New Future” on 2-6 September in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria and Director of the TWAS Arab Regional Office (ARO), all members of the two academies, and distinguished scholars from the developing and developed worlds will participate in the conference. Participants will discuss building a better future for scientific research in the developing world.

It is worth mentioning that the BA hosts the ARO- one of five regional offices throughout the world- chaired by Dr. Ismail Serageldin and managed by the BA Center for Special Studies and Programs.
