Alexandria — The Planetarium Science Center, an affiliate to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, is organizing a lecture entitled "The Mars Hoax", on 29 August 2006. The lecture will be given by the astronomer Aymen Ibrahem, PSC, Senior Astronomy Specialist.
The lecture will clarify the rumors about Mars which stated that on 27 August 2006 Mars will approach Earth so closely that it will appear as large as the Moon in the sky. These rumors started as a chain email. The lecture will feature a thorough exploration of the Red Planet.
The lecture takes place at the auditorium, 11:00 am.
