The BA Hosts October War and Navy Day Celebration

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina hosted yesterday evening the Egyptian Naval Salon's October War and Navy Day celebration, which was attended by Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the BA; Vice Admiral Ahmed Khaled Said, Governor of Alexandria; Dr. Essam Sharaf, former Prime Minister; Admiral Walid Attia, Assistant Navy Commander; Admiral Hussein Fouad, CEO of the Egyptian Naval Club in Alexandria; and Major General Mahmoud Metwally, Secretary General of the Egyptian Naval Club, together with a group of former ministers, consuls working in Alexandria, Senate and Parliament members, and members of the Egyptian Naval Club.

Dr. Zayed opened the ceremony by welcoming the attendees, emphasizing that the October War was a milestone in the history of Egypt and the Arab nation, proving that strong will and conscious minds can lead to major accomplishments.

He also called for efforts to deepen the national memory of the war, as societies are built on the awareness of their people, praising the success of the Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit, which confirms that peace is the true call of Egypt.
