The BA Hosts the Graduation Ceremony for Students of the “African Youth for Development” Program

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina hosted yesterday the graduation ceremony for students of the African League of Young Masters program, which was organized by the Academic Research Sector’s Sustainable Development Studies, Youth Capacity Building, and African Relations Support Program.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; Dr. Hani Sewilam, Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources; Ambassador Mohamed Safwat, Assistant Foreign Minister for Nile Basin Affairs; Prof. Ali Abdel Mohsen, Vice President of Alexandria University for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Sherweit El-Ahmady, Director of International Relations at Ain Shams University; Ambassador Naela Gabr, Head of the Coordinating Committee for Combating and Preventing Illegal Immigration and Human Trafficking; and Prof. Ahmed Abdel-Aty, Professor at the Desert Research Center. The event was moderated by Dr. Marwa El-Wakil, Head of the BA Academic Research Sector.

The African League of Young Masters Program, which is geared towards African students, aims to strengthen Egyptian-African relations and open channels of communication between African students and their Egyptian colleagues by holding weekly meetings at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The Library is harnessing all its resources to support and build the capacities of young people, in order to highlight Egypt's leading role in the African continent, exchange knowledge and scientific expertise and consolidate future relations among these youth.
