The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in cooperation with the Arabic Book Award in Doha, will host an orientation seminar on the Arabic Book Award on Sunday, 25 May 2025, at 1:00 pm, in the BACC Delegates Hall.
The seminar will be delivered by Prof. Hanan Al-Fayyad, Media Advisor for the Arabic Book Award; Dr. Imtenan Al-Samadi, the Award’s Media Coordinator; and Dr. Medhat Issa, Director of the BA Manuscripts Center and Museum.
The Arabic Book Award is an annual award based in Doha, launched with the aim of honoring writers, authors, and researchers whose works have contributed to human culture and the Arabic library.
The award is divided into two categories: the single book category and the achievement category. Nominations are acceptable in both categories, provided that the work belongs to one of the scientific disciplines announced by the award body, which have been determined this year in the following fields: linguistic and literary studies, social and philosophical studies, historical research, Sharia sciences and Islamic studies, and the editing of texts, dictionaries, and encyclopedias. The award is valued at one million dollars divided among the five fields.
