The BA Center of Francophone Activities is organizing the eighth edition of the “Eight Days of Mediterranean Cinema” workshop series, which targets Francophone high school students with the aim of developing their film criticism skills in French.

Students receive specialized training that includes watching and analyzing three documentaries selected by the Mediterranean Center for Audiovisual Communication (CMCA) in Marseille, which address contemporary issues of concern to the peoples of the Mediterranean Basin and introduce students to the importance of the seventh art and its role in highlighting humanitarian and social issues.

At the end of the workshops, students vote to select the best film in their opinion, which will be awarded a prize during the Mediterranean Film Festival that will take place in Marseille from 29 November to 6 December 2025.

The winning students will have the opportunity to participate in local and international festivals, which will offer them unique practical experience and boost their self-confidence as well as develop their artistic and cultural skills in a variety of professional environments.

This activity covers eight governorates across the country, thus aiming for a broader participation of students interested in the French language and cinema.

The workshop will culminate on 16 October, when the Center will host Francophone school students in the Auditorium Hall, coinciding with the Library's celebration of its 23rd anniversary.
