The Bibliotheca Alexandrina announced the launch of its forum on high-performance and quantum computing, which will serve as a regional hub providing resources, training materials, and educational support to researchers and students in Egypt, the Arab region, and Africa.
The launch of this forum is part of the role that the Bibliotheca Alexandrina has been playing since 2009 in supporting the research community by providing advanced computing resources to Egyptian universities. This initiative is a continuation of this role, through which it seeks to support research and innovation communities in the fields of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and quantum computing.
The forum also provides an integrated educational platform that includes open digital educational resources and material for researchers and students, a series of lectures and scientific seminars delivered by local and international experts, practical events such as hackathons and scientific competitions, as well as opportunities for collaboration between universities, research centers, and start-ups.
The initiative aims to build capacity in the region and Africa, raise community awareness of the importance of advanced technologies, and create a new generation of specialists in future science, thereby cementing the Bibliotheca Alexandrina's position as a regional and international center for innovation and knowledge.
