Seminar on Human Rights Culture at the BA

Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and Ambassador Mahmoud Karem, President of the National Council for Human Rights, will inaugurate the joint symposium “The Dissemination and Promotion of a Culture of Human Rights” on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, at the BA Conference Center.

The opening session will feature speeches by Dr. Sameh Fawzy, Senior Researcher at the BA; Mr. Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat, Member of the National Council for Human Rights and Head of the Civil and Political Rights Committee; and Dr. Magdy Abdel Hamid, Executive Director of the European Project at the Council.

The symposium will include two sessions addressing the relationship between human rights, education, and community culture, featuring a number of prominent academics, human rights activists, and public figures.

The symposium comes as part of the two institutions' efforts to promote a culture of human rights, particularly in the areas of education, community culture, citizenship, and development.
