The BA Women Studies and Social Transformation Program (WSST) and the Sustainable Development Studies, Youth Capacity Building, and African Relations Support Program, in collaboration with Hanns Seidel Foundation (Cairo office), are organizing a number of events throughout March (women’s month), starting from 6 March 2023, under the title “Women’s Week for a Sustainable Environment.”

The events feature a number of workshops held at the BA premises and Khadija Palace in Cairo, as well as others organized by the BA at various external headquarters in cooperation with the Governorate of Alexandria. The workshops address topics such as the principles of economic empowerment of women and girls, the importance of sustainable initiatives, the generation of new ideas for green projects, rooftop farming, and small-scale agribusiness. The workshops also shed light on the most important health initiatives and services provided to women to help them take care of their health.

Additionally, the week's activities include a conference entitled "Women and the Sustainable Environment" from 8-9 March 2023, with the participation of a large number of experts, researchers and those concerned with women’s affairs and the environment, along with students and recent graduates from universities across Egypt.
