Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, received Sir Geoffrey Adams, the British Ambassador to Egypt, at the Library.

Dr. Elfeki expressed his delight with Sir Adams’s visit to the BA, since the latter has a deep knowledge about the Egyptian society, culture, and identity.

Ambassador Adams was pleased to tour the BA, and to return to work in Egypt (he was Deputy Ambassador of the UK to Egypt in 1998), noting that he visited Egypt for the first time when his father served as the UK Ambassador to Egypt in 1973.

During their meeting, Dr. Elfeki and Ambassador Adams talked about several cultural and historical issues, and discussed the means of cooperation between the organizations and institutes of both countries, particularly in the fields of culture and education.

Moreover, Dr. Elfeki presented the British Ambassador with a number of BA publications, including The Photographic Memory of Alexandria, The Photographic Memory of Cairo, and Alexandria: The Past and Present.

The British Ambassador toured the BA, and was introduced to the services it provides to its members and patrons.
