The Director of Goethe-Institute in a Visit to the Library of Alexandria

Dr. Mostafa El-Feki, Director of the Library of Alexandria, received Mrs. Sabine Erlenwein, the new Director of the Goethe Institute in Alexandria.

Dr. Mostafa El-Feki expressed his delight to meet Mrs. Erlenwein. The two directors spoke about the role of cultural institutions in strengthening dialogue among cultures and civilizations. They also discussed possible cooperation means between the Library of Alexandria and Goethe Institute through presenting joint artistic and cultural programs.

Mrs. Sabine Erlenwein expressed her admiration of the Library collections, its books, acquisitions, and artistic exhibitions as well as the cultural and educational services, which it provides to its users. The BA is a symbol of peace all over the world in addition to its role in maintaining communication across different cultures opening access for knowledge to all the people of the world.

At the end of the visit, Dr. Mostafa El-Feki presented Mrs. Erlenwein with a number of BA publications, including The Photographic Memory of Alexandria.
