The BA Celebrates Open Access Week

Posted on

The BA Technical Operations Department is celebrating the Open Access Week for the eighth consecutive year from 22-23 October. The world celebrates Open Access Week every October to highlight the need to move towards making knowledge available through open access publishing, so that the academic and research community can continue to learn about its potential benefits.

Open access to information provides direct, immediate, and free access to scientific research results, including articles, books, scientific papers, etc., through the Internet, and allows for their reuse in new research.

On the sidelines of the celebration, the BA has dedicated a corner to users to learn more about open access to information, located at the Main Library entrance from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Two workshops will also be held during the aforementioned period to provide practical training on how to use open access resources. These workshops will take place at the Learning Center on the third basement level (B3) of the Main Library from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
