  • AFRABIA : From Arabo-Hebraic Divergence to Afro-Arab Convergence
  • Ali A. Mazrui 2010
  • Afrabia: From Arabo-Hebraic Divergence to Afro-Arab Convergence is a lecture by Professor Ali Mazrui who is involved in African politics, published within the Distinguished Lecture Series. The book deals with “the great Semitic divergence” which includes the Europeanization of the Jews simultaneously with the partial Africanization of the Arabs. Mazrui explains the concept of “Afrabia” which connotes an interaction between African and Arab identity, as according to him there are similarities between both such as the prevalence of Islam. Finally, he concludes by foreseeing the emergence of “Afrabia” as an inevitable event linking languages, religions, and identities across the Sahara Desert and the Red Sea in the New World Order.
